Mask for children
Supporting children’s health
Together with Bolzano-based Società Q&E srl, the Foundation is promoting a project called ‘Mask for Children’ with the aim of producing and distributing masks for use by children.
These masks, like any other, won’t be distributed directly to families, but to Institutions who will then take care of distributing them, including, for example, 1,500 masks for children at the Istituto Giannina Gaslini Children's Hospital in Genoa.
The protective masks, which do not fall under the category of medical devices and are distributed by the hospitals’ health care personnel to the children when they leave the hospital, are made with a water-repellent, breathable fabric with high filtering power and antibacterial silver thread.
Lapo Elkann, president of the LAPS Foundation comments: “During this emergency it is essential to join forces for the benefit of those who need it most. This is the spirit behind the donation made together with Q36.5, a company with exceptional human values. Since 2016, under my Foundation, we have been taking care of the well-being of minors. And, during this pandemic, we have given aid paying particular attention to those who represent our future.”
Sabrina Emmasi, General Manager of Q36.5 said: “The Never Give Up charity collection promoted by the LAPS Foundation has pushed our company, which has always been attentive to issues aimed at the well-being of the community, to further social commitment. For this reason we have joined forces with LAPS to protect the health of minors. We believe that in a moment like the present one, even when faced with production difficulties due to the lockdown period, it is extremely important to make ones’ willingness to reach out and help felt by those most in need.”
